My recycled Valentine’s Wreath

Are you looking for an affordable way to freshen up your entranceway? Perhaps your current wreath needs some updating?Today, I am gonna share some quick, easy and affordable tips to make the wreath on your door look fabulous! I hope you enjoy my post on how to save money: recycle and refresh grapevine wreaths

You can use any wreath form you have on hand. I am a fan of grapevines plus, that is what I have on hand. So, these tips will be about grapevine wreaths. But, feel free to adapt them to what you have.

Grapevine wreaths can be used year-round, and are a classic indoor-outdoor home decoration that fit both rustic and modern home styles. You can recycle and re-dress it for different seasons. Just remove old and faded decor & add new items to refresh your wreath. You can choose to do this for each holiday/season. Or, you can make a classic wreath that coordinates with your space.

Grapevine wreaths are an excellent natural foundation for seasonal and holiday wreaths. The wreath may be transformed into an attractive door adornment in no time. Your wreath will represent the current season or upcoming holidays with a few simple alterations. Grapevine wreaths give charm, flair, and a homey sense to any area they adorn. Keeping a wreath or two on hand to serve as a basis allows for a speedy start to holiday decoration. To reuse the wreath base, connect ornaments with wire or ribbon so they may be simply replaced. I usually do not glue decorations to the wreath. But, if this is a wreath you plan to keep as is for years to come feel free to use your hot glue gun to attach items quickly.

Gather Your Supplies:

Once you have removed all of the old decorations from your wreath you are ready to begin

I used all recycled items- My ribbons were from recent holiday gift giving. Aside from being frugal I love being environmentally friendly & reusing whenever possible. Yes, I am the one at holidays & birthdays who is skittering around scooping up all the Paper, bags, ribbons & bows to reuse;-) If you do not have any ribbon around feel free to grab some at Michaels Craft Store michaels, Joann Fabrics joann or any other local craft stores. Be sure to shop their clearance section or sales isle.

assemble your “new” wreath

Aside from repurposed ribbon I reused some heart picks I bought a few years back at The Dollar Tree.

Firstly I wrapped my ribbon around the wreath.

I had a small piece of glitter ribbon that I had almost trashed.

So glad I saved it since it gives the wreath some vibrant pop.

Next I attached it to the wreath by tying a bow with a piece of wired velvet ribbon.

Finally, I randomly inserted the heart picks around my wreath

Lastly I hung it on my door.

I did not use any craft wire or glue & despite my 2 teenage sons bustling in and out the door the wreath has been hanging and holding up nicely

It looks as sweet as the day I placed it on my door!
