Are you looking for easy ways to save money at home? Wishing you were not having to restock basic items so often?
Well, today I am going to share some tips to save money on your essentials so that you have more cash left over for you.
That way you can buy things you want to buy not just the “must Buys” that keep your home running smoothly
Save On Toothpaste
There are a couple of easy ways to save on toothpaste. The first one is by using the samples your dentist gives during your visits.
Plus, use less of the stuff! Most dentists will tell you to put a pea sized bit of toothpaste on your toothbrush. However, ads for toothpaste show jumbo swooshes of toothpaste.
Also, consider getting “toothpaste tube squeezers” to ensure you get every bit of your toothpaste from your tubes
Using less toothpaste & all of your toothpaste will help your tubes last longer. Therefore, you can save money by purchasing toothpaste less often.
Save on Laundry Sheets
Years ago I ditched the big jug laundry detergent and switched to laundry seets. They are environmentally and economically more friendly.
Especially if you keep your eyes out for deals and sales. Plus, I use half the amount recommended. Even my huge loads of teenage boy laundry comes out looking clean and smelling fresh!
The best laundry sheets in my opinion are Earth Breeze They are vegan, cruelty free and environmentally friendly
Buy Heaviest Or Fullest Container
This may sound silly but, every little bit ads up…So, when you are shopping take a moment to make sure you are buying the fullest bottle of everything. Take a quick look and grab the one that is filled up the most.
Also, when buying prepackaged produce weigh a few bags and buy the one that is heaviest. I buy organic broccoli and apples. I choose the heaviest feeling or fullest looking containers. I bring them to the scale & weigh them. You would be amazed at the weight difference some items have!
It takes just seconds to weigh your produce & helps to ensure that you are getting the most for your hard earned cash.
Save Money At Home By Using Less
In addition to saving money on your home items when you use less your products last longer. This allows you to shop less often and to save money for the things you really want.
Last year while looking for a more affordable and environmentlly friendly hand soap I discovered hand soap tablets. I use these to refill my soap dispensers. I prefer foaming soap tablets which must be used in foaming soap dispensers.
Of course I use a dispenser that is larger than recommended. This way my soap goes further. You just need to make sure you don’t go too large or your soap will become too watery.
,Look around and you will find that many products we buy are mostly water. So, if you can find one that you can add water too at home you will be saving money. Plus, it is so much easier to not need to lug huge jugs aound when shopping
