Are you looking for ways to save money on your holiday gift giving? Would you like to reduce waste around the holidays, birthdays & other festive occasions? Today I want to show you how to quickly & easily turn your old holiday cards into super cute gift tags.
step 1: Gather your supplies
what you’ll need:
- Old Greeting Cards
- Scissors- I used Fiskar Paper Edgers. Use whatever type of cutting tool you have on hand
- Repurposed gift ribbon
- Hole Punch or a large needle, whatever you already have
Step 2: Cut the cards into desired shapes
Making gift tags out of greeting cards is a great way to be environmentally friendly. Greeting cards, with their vibrant colors and patterns, are excellent upcycling and decorating materials. I typically use as much of the card as possible. Many cards can be upcycled into more than 1 gift tag. Just make sure the back side of the card you are using is blank & clear of personal messages. Get creative & enjoy this fun little project:-)
step 3: punch holes in gift tags
The final step is to punch a hole in the top of each tag and ad some pretty recycled ribbon to each tag.
Store these with your gift wrapping supplies.
Voila! So simple. There’s no need to rush out to buy gift tags or stickers, and you’ll feel less guilty about throwing away the greeting cards you get throughout the year;-)
